SCALES

A Complete Approach

Welcome to Savvy Guitar Scales. So why practice scales? Learning scales is one of the most important things we need to do as guitarists. Scales allow us to visualize the entire fretboard in all keys and get us used to playing in all areas of the fretboard, improving reading/sight-reading skills. Scale practice is essential to our technical development, not only for speed, but for developing the coordination between our left and right hands. Scale practice lets us practice string crossings, one of the biggest challenges facing any guitarist. Practicing scales helps us develop our tone, too. Basically, scales improve our overall command of the guitar.
