The Five CAGED Patterns

These five fingerings patterns are everything you need to play in every major key in the most used positions on the fretboard. Each one can be moved to any position, an instant transposition to any key!

The CAGED name comes from the starting tonic note of each pattern, in second position in this case. The fingering types are in the order they'll be played in every key. I'll cover specifics on how to move them around in another lesson. For now, commit these patterns to memory!
